Maybe discretion on the part of the Slalom Committee will apply and as at least one of the Div 1's would have got promoted this weekend maybe they will give benefit of the doubt as they already have this season in K1W and given points for a run that were not achieved resulting in promotion. They do...

I would just say - what about the taxi drivers? Particularly when having to drive back from Llandysul to the north of Scotland and then work at 08:00 the following morning. Sorry Gareth it was an excellent competition and well worth the drive! Possibly the first slalom to say that it has contribute...

Just a note about the Algie Timy. It is in effect a computer in a timing box dedicated to providing times against trigger points. The USB link would not be used to trigger anything - I know you couldn't sensibly do that on a Microsoft operating system for anything more accurate than hours - the tim...

Having worked both on Start and in control what we need to do is get it right. Steve and the timing team have worked very hard this year to get it right and with some signifcant success for Prem & Div 1. The last Washburn ran almost to time all day and I did hear an excuse for lateness that include...

Hi I have worked out most - but not all - the algorithms right down to Div 4. The worst ones are the C2 and C1W because they are dependent on K1M all the time. They thus need to be done with a variable size lookup table - the big problem then is deciding the points when there is an exact match with...

I am probably certifiable but here goes. I think the time has come to move this forward as the paddlers do want to know where they stand with races often only a week apart during the season and I don't have enough fingers to count the times I have explained the ranking and promotion system to paren...

By the way Katonas it took me less than 4 minutes to identify you in detail and then from this your date of birth on line. I believe it is [*EDITED*]. I have the day of the month as well but not appropriate to post that here. Yes I do work part time in the confidential information business but can ...

The ranking compilers should not pass on the details of all potential competitors but only those that have properly entered as otherwise they could be in breach of the data protection act passing on information that is not required. We would therefore need information to be able to identify those p...

I see no need for next of kin data to be added to the cards as has been suggested. We are very capable of finding this if we have basic identity and this requires three things name / address and one other which is normally DOB. Year of birth would do but is not ideal. From this we can gather import...

I accept the need to keep data secure and not share it any more than needed for the purposes for which it was provided. If a paddler is seriously injured and is carted off to hospital I can assure you that having the date of birth can be very useful in ensuring identification and enabling rapid acc...

As an organiser there is a need to have both ages (I could settle for age that year although would prefer DOB - and we may now need this for the vets as well!!) and addresses of competitors. This information made be used for ranking but also in the event that something unfortunate happens - god for...
