Re: GRANDTULLY DIV 1 28/29 AUGUST 2021
Anyone from England or Wales thinking of stepping in to run an event at Grandtully (it is quite feasible, everything is there) needs to read the current SCA guidance for paddlesport under Covid-19 (which apparently changed today?) and the Scottish government's latest road map for easing restrictions...

Re: C2 paddling under current Covid-19 restrictions
Some age groups are exempt from 2m distancing, some crews are families and others are from different households so it does make for a bit of an uneven playing field at present, but I think we need to get away from the idea that we are going to have a level playing field in any category for the remai...

Re: Advice on replacing grab loops
Thanks for the advice chaps. I think I'll try JFNG's method first as it's a lot less drastic than yours Jim! Cheers, James It should be sufficient, I mean we never actually hang onto them on slalom boats, and now you know not to tie the boat down by them on the car... I have tried various methods f...

Re: Advice on replacing grab loops
Yes, making it watertight is only the latter half the problem, tying the knots on the inside at the end of a skinny boat is a real challenge! The easiest way is to wait until your seams are knackered and take the deck off. Easiest being a comparative thing of course, re-fitting the deck is not a beg...

Re: GRANDTULLY DIV 1 AUGUST 2021
You have my sympathy on the Polski Fiat 126, the rest I could put up with but I think one of those would drive me over the edge.
(shuddering at the memory of a 9 hour drive accross Poland in the back of a 126 for my Grandad's sister's funeral)

Re: CanoeSlalomEntries Support for Covid Slaloms
Thanks Les,
I guess we are all awaiting further clarity on the details now!
I suspect it will come too late for me to be able to act on, but keeping my fingers crossed and my options open!

Re: CanoeSlalomEntries Support for Covid Slaloms
What a minefield! From the first link (in the section from 29th March, which starts at item 99): 102.The Government will also allow outdoor sports facilities to reopen, broadening the options for outdoor exercise and recreation. These facilities, such as tennis and basketball courts, and swimming poo...

That makes sense, hopefully we can catch up in zoom tomorrow and see if there is a better way to set things up.
Thanks
Jim

Re: CanoeSlalomEntries Support for Covid Slaloms
Hi Dee, You will be telling me next that you didn't write Canoeslalom entries with a 'massive geomagnetic storm that will take down all electronics' in mind? :D Division Limits I think the way I have it set up is probably going to be easiest to explain to people when the raft of queries start. Optio...

Re: CanoeSlalomEntries Support for Covid Slaloms
I have just published Pinkston div 2/3 (it's not open yet, don't rush) and have come up with a couple of considerations. - The first I think can probably only ever apply to this race so probably not worth trying to accommodate - if we run under the sort of restrictions I am anticipating we will have...

All looks good to me!
Mitch - you will probably beat me with one hand tied behind your back, actually, would you consider that to give me a chance?

Re: CanoeSlalomEntries Support for Covid Slaloms
Indeed classical protests are difficult if results are not seen however posting may be difficult in any form at sites like Washburn where there is no local signal. Do we set up a wireless network? Yes. I have done this at Farinilee and Pinkston and for some of the time you were even running start a...

Re: Help - plastic design/printing - wireless judging handset
I'm sure Davie will be interested in helping, but I'm also thinking it sounds similar to some items Tiffa Royle 3D printed to add charge sockets and stuff to their camper. So at least 2 avenues to explore!

Re: Annual Consultative Meeting and back to racing discussion
... Online entries is already pressing organisers to complete their race details for the published calendar ... Pretty much agree with everything said, but for clarity the race details at the stage are primarily for creating the calendar (for printing and for Canoeslalom.co.uk). Organisers have alw...
