I agree with Duncan - pictures would be more helpful. I've spent 10 minutes flipping back and forth and dropping the tall narrow book and finding the pages again trying to find out if there was a tap somewhere!

There are some weirdos who help at events they are far too chicken to do officials' runs at pretend to be related to me and you can take mine! Half of Malhamdale is already!

Yes, I would find that acceptable to get any refund after the event. Goodness knows the organisers have enough to do while it's going on.

Tbh I'd be put off Lee Valley 2/O because of the behaviour of some of their paddlers and parents at other slaloms too, as well as it being one day, expensive, the wrong end of the M1 and hard to get practice on. I don't want to be saying it but it's how I feel :( I wanted to be looking forward to it...
