Help - plastic design/printing - wireless judging handset

HI, I'm currently working on a wireless judging handset and my biggest issue is finding anything suitable to house it in, I've looked at literally hundreds of options but non suit. There actually seems to be a gap in the market. I'm not the only one who has had this issue. I need a small as possible...

Re: Annual Consultative Meeting and back to racing discussion

All good points and I'm sure these can be covered off by the slalom committee simply issuing a statement via a committee meeting if required. That said, who is going to object, I don't think there is actually a way to object to the way a race is run except to put a protest in, talk to the organiser ...

Re: Annual Consultative Meeting and back to racing discussion

re 2013/2014 I think it may have been a bubble created by Kingston/Tees/Halifax and a few other clubs at the time, not totally sure it was that year but we all had quite large squads at that time. I remember we had some good turns outs at local events but it only lasted a year or two. I've just comp...

Re: Annual Consultative Meeting and back to racing discussion

Good point I've removed 2020, makes thing a a bit more normal. I'd forgotten about all promotions and the div 4 promotees. So here are the figures we can use. 2013 1431 2014 1504 2015 1404 2016 1379 2017 1364 2018 1331 2019 1255 Still about 30 a year but that's less shocking. Thanks for putting me s...

Re: Annual Consultative Meeting and back to racing discussion

Other than getting back to racing the other big thing that needs resolving is lack of paddlers. 7 years ago we had about 1,500 which was bad enough, we are now down to just over 1,000. I can imagine we may see another big drop post covid. 2013 1431 2014 1504 2015 1404 2016 1379 2017 1364 2018 1331 2...

Re: Back to Slaloms

One such bit of vaguenous....

"Any limit on numbers will encompass all persons on site so calculations should include paddlers, coaches, officials, volunteers, venue staff, parents transporting young paddlers, etc."

Re: Back to Slaloms

You are not the only one slight worried about the clarity meaning local decisions have to be made, for instance between the 6 rule for coaching and being allowed to have 30 playing polo. Those who want something unfortunately point to the rules that allow things and those who are responsible (orgran...

Re: Back to Slaloms

Pinkston is one of a few venues that make it possible (I believe that is where it is). It has guaranteed water (well nearly), plug and play facility, can control public access, is easy to manage safety, judging etc, has buildings were needed, a large warm up/cool down area, easy to set up one way sy...

Re: Back to Slaloms

Volunteers will be in short supply, particularly those with experience as many will probably be in high risk groups.

I think the current aim should be for clubs to run their own events for their club members. That is feasible and can be managed.

Re: Back to Slaloms

Jono is right, a lot of the things I outlined aren't impossible to fix, that was my short bullet points to give people things to think about. It is however a hell of a lot to sort out which all requires extra volunteers to plan, document and manage, it will vary hugely from site to site dependent on...

Re: Back to Slaloms

Getting back to racing isn't easy, div 4 level perhaps div 3 not so bad but above that except possibly for some turn up and play courses there are lots of issues to solve which I'm sure organisers continue to scratch their heads over. Entries (limited) Runs (Probably back to back, multi class paddle...

Veterans - Alternate points

For those who don't know we are trialing an alternate points system this season (unofficial and and not replacing the current system). I know some of you are chomping at the bit to see how the alternate points are working out. I've got them working in the ranking database but I need Nick to reload t...

Re: Lee Valley Div 1

Wait till you try your new boat on an escalator, be prepared for fun they don't grip, not fun hurtling back down the one at Tees, spinning round and finishing off sideways, fortunately one side of the safety fence end return was missing so I didn't get stuck or damage my boat, just gave it a good th...

If you are having issues accessing the calendar on Nicks site (you might get a pop up saying try again later) you will need to refresh the full page.

Shift F5 in chome

Some changes were made to one of the systems involved and you need to force your browser to reload the javascript.
