Just been sent some explanations for motions, heres the one for this: The rationale is to provide the possibilities to take race results from a single run. This will provide options to replicate the race formats at International events, by allowing race results to be taken on a single run (ie semi ...

As no one else is hazarding a gues, or a response to John I will give my 2p worth. (Note that the real figures are around somewhere as they are on the jury forms) :;): The number of protests varies depending on the division and seriousness of the race, and of course the perceived judging standard. ...

It is not 'Etiennes motion' leave the poor guy alone, he is doing his best to represent paddlers.

It is a motion from the entire executive committee.

AND Thanks Lynne for the background, pity only those reading the board will have seen both sides. Guess which way I will vote?

Just to make it clear, this proposal could ONLY affect Selection/prem events, and I believe is only planned fro selection.

Us lower division paddlers will still have the chance to prove how unfit we are by drifting down the river twice.

I'd be interested to know why any people who voting against this do so. Could you let me know either by posting or e-mail or private message.

No back biting, no recriminations, no slagging off, just interested so that I can understand your view - you might even convert me.

Thanks

Springing to Etienne's defence it is not his motion. It is a motion from the executive committee as a whole. Etienne represents paddlers on theexec - I am not sure if he even gets a vote. But as part of thecommittee he has to scept the committee decsiion in public. You might as well accuse me. Afte...

No probs at the AGM, Ettienne, all we do is bring a point of order at the begining (Irena will be expecting it by then) then the meeting can agree to change the order and discuss them together.

Remember that single or double and whether there is a slalom at all is down to the individual clubs finding a mug, sorry volunteer, to be an organiser. The Exec only tries to co-ordinate the slaloms so that we do not have two close together on the same weekend. It is the clubs that decide what they...

Why are these not together? They can't both succeed (although both could fail).

6.7 is a softening of the status quo where events are automatically reserved for teams.

Would love to see explanations can anyone help?

Ah contradictory vote..... Lets vote for having C Class open to all even if there is a team there, we will ignore the remote idea of voting against both. So Yes is no restirctions on Class C, No is the team manager can reserve the race.

??? I do not understand why this is needed, unless it is to ensure that the Committee gets what is expected from as an admin fee from open events. Would it not have been better to just state the admin fee required? The wording (should be. . .) leaves it open for us to charge what ever we want, perh...

An Open event at a Division 4 or 3 event should charge a fixed entry fee of £5. AtDouble Open events the fee should be £7. At Division 2 Open Events, the entry fee should be the same as the Division 2 rates for both Juniors and Seniors, including Double Events. At multi Division Events that include...
