Cardington June Slalom

The June Cardington Div 2/3/4 slalom is less than 4 weeks away, currently we have plenty of space but the event often fills up. Late entry fees will be charged 2 weeks before the event so you can save money and be guaranteed a place by entering now. Full information is contained in the event Info Pa...

Re: Scratch C2s

Great to hear scratch C2s can now be entered online, one less thing for organisers to have to deal with. I believe scratch C2s should get confirmed entries, not be placed on a waiting list. I see no real difference between a scratch C2 and a Div 4 entry which we would accept straight away. If a Div ...

Re: Tweaks for online entries?

I do use the pre-printed cards as it makes it easy to separate them using the perforations. If you are still looking for somewhere to put SAT and SUN, I'd suggest either: 1. Top right hand corner of the card, perhaps moving the name and club to the left so as to ensure there is no overlap with long ...

Re: Tweaks for online entries?

Firstly I'd just like to add what a massive difference the online entry system made to running our 2 Div 2/3/4 events this year, this has been a great step forward. I was going to add a request to find a way of adding the few entries that were not possible online this year but it looks like its alre...

Re: ACM Motion 6.4 Course Erection

As a Div 2/3/4 organiser this proposal doesn’t impact me directly but I do have concerns that it limits an organiser flexibility. With an often very limited resource pool the organiser should be given as much flexibility as possible. Organisers should not be forced to take time off work to build a c...

Re: ACM Motion 6.2 Paddle Up Priority

As a Div 2/3/4 organiser this proposal doesn’t really impact me but I can’t help but think it’s a backward step. Good progress was made last year in simplifying running events, small changes like removing multi class and double discounts certainly made my job easier. This proposal has complexity wri...

Re: ACM Motion 6.6 Bib Deposit

I have no objection to increasing the bib deposit and looking at the bib costs it seems the right thing to do. Was just wondering how it would work in practice next year. Would a bib voucher plus £1 have to be sent to get a bib or is someone going to keep track of who has different value bib deposits?

Re: Div 4 cards (promoted) - why send to bib officer

I've just spent quite a lot of time this morning: sorting through nearly 400 cards from the weekend's event at Cardington to find those that need to be sent off, working out which ones need to be sent to which ranking officer, finding the relevant addresses for each one and going to the Post Office ...

Re: Cardington 2/3/4 Slalom September 1st & 2nd 2018

There is now a waiting list for people who would like to paddle at Cardington so if you have entered and are not now able to attend please let me know so someone else has the opportunity to paddle. Its going to be a busy weekend as not only do we have a full event but there is also a major running e...

The September Cardington 2/3/4 is now full, please do not travel expecting to enter on the day unless this has been agreed in advance.

Re: Cardington 2/3/4 Slalom September 1st & 2nd 2018

We do normally put signs up, will try and make sure they are in the best possible position. Keep a look out for yellow boards which from memory have "VKC Slalom" on them. If the signs fail, once you have entered the business park go straight across the first roundabout and them take the next left.

As Nick Penfold is away this week I'm not sure when the results for the June Cardington slalom will be published so are links to them. https://www.dropbox.com/s/5wc5z6uuf93azgz/Simply%20Slalom%20ver%2018.5.1%20Saturday%20June%209th%202018-res-pdf.pdf?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/1g7ibredo2ggbyv/Si...

Re: Cardington 2/3/4 Slalom June 9th & 10th 2018

The event is not full yet so if you want to compete there's still time to enter. Online entries are working really well, if you'd like to paddle at the weekend it would be really helpful if you could enter online rather than on the day. Entering online will save you having to write out cards, queue ...

Re: Div 4 C2 - Confused of Winchester

Can anyone confirm my understanding of what I should be charging for C2s at next weekend's Div 2/3/4 Cardington slalom? My assumption is that as there is now a single division, any entries, ranked or scratch get charged 50% of the Div 2 fees i.e. £6.75 per day for late/on the day entries. While we a...
