For my own interest, I have kept track of the P/1 veterans.
According to my reckoning, the current state of play is as follows, based on the best 5 results, with the British Open still to come:
George Spittal: 4912 points
Bob Grundy: 1468 points
Andrew Close: 1295 points
David Waine: 586 points
Jerry Tracey: 223 points
David Waine (C1) 370 points
It has been great to find a bit more activity in veteran events this year. Are there any more well seasoned paddlers out there who fancy having a go next season?!
Best Wishes to all!
Jerry.

Hi All
Just to let you know I raised the very same question and got a fairly unhelpful response. I'm not going to post the response as it can be taken out of context, easily.
I have passed on this matter and am hopeful we will see a change.
I would like to say having done the Vets the last couple of years, but especially this year, I have enjoyed the fun and good feeling on the water.
It really is great to be competeing and being able to smile and laugh at the bottom of the course (once I have caught my breath and turned back to a normal colour).
I also hope more people get involved.
Thanks Jerry for keeping tabs.
George

Many thanks to Ken and the other organisers and judges for a great British Open weekend.
P/1 Veteran ranking positions are unchanged, although my best five total is now 241 points. The other final end of season scores remain as above.
Congratulations to all and especially to George for a well-earned trophy!
See you next season.
Jerry.
