Im thinking of heading over to nottingham for a few weeks,im coming from Ireland and would be flying to East Midlands airport.I wont have a car.Does anyone have any advice about getting to the course from the airport?Like which and what transport I can use to get to the course???buses/taxis....etc

Also is there still a campsite right beside the course?its been a while since I was there last........

There is a campsite within walking distance from the course which has full facilities including a small shop, showers, toilets etc.

How you would get to HPP from East Midlands I am not sure, I would have thought there was a train or bus service to the centre of Nottingham from East Midlands airport and a local bus should get you somewhere near HPP.

Apart from that I can not help, might be wothwhile giving HPP a ring for local information.

http://www.skylink.co.uk/ this is best way to get from the airport to Nottingham town centre, then you need to get the number 11 bus, to Trent Boulevard, during the week it stops short of the centre so you will have a 5 minute walk. If you get off the skylink at Trent bridge you can get the 11 from outside Crumbs sandwich shop or just walk down Trent Boulevard to the Centre a 15 minute walk.
I hope this helps

I'm sure if you post your time of arrival someone would be able to give you a lift.

There are plenty of paddlers living in Nottingham, who would be more than happy to give you a lift in return for a bit of petrol money which will be a lot cheaper than the cost of a taxi. If you post when you're gonna be arriving - date and time. I'm sure you'll get offers.

Just make sure your not on one of those cheap flights that gets in at midnight or something......

If you cant get a lift its only about an hour walk till you can hop on the river and paddle to HPP AND its all downstream.
