8.8. Where nations are allocated a limited number of places at a Class C International, Great Britain Teams will have priority in filling those places as appropriate.
Where those Great Britain Teams do not wish to take up all the places allocated, the Slalom Committee will publicise the availability of the remaining places by means of the Slalom website, with a closing date for applications to reach the Slalom Administrator. The Slalom Administrator will allocate the remaining places according to published criteria. Where no criteria are thought appropriate, places will be allocated according to finishing positions in that year’s British Team Selection Race series, Senior or Junior as appropriate.
This proposal is to aid the implementation of the Resolution passed at the 2004 Annual Consultative Meeting to prevent the reservation of places at Class C Internationals to British Teams.
At two Class C Internationals in 2004 – the Senior Pre-Worlds in Prague and The Junior Pre-Worlds at Solkan – junior places allocated to Great Britain were unused because the Teams concerned did not wish to take up all the allocated places (6 Juniors per class in Prague, 8 Juniors per class at Solkan), and there was no mechanism for publicising and allocating the vacant places.
