Surely the UK rules should reflect the International rules, so it is the ICF rule that needs changing. I've asked before how the ICF rules were drawn up and amended, and no-one (so far) has been able to give me an answer.

If we feel strongly that an ICF rule needs changing the BCU can put a proposal forward from the Slalom Committee. This proposal would have to have been agreed at the ACM.

There are a number of new ICF rule includung pole heights increased to 20cm. However we cannot adopt these until voted on at the next ACM.

So the mechanism for changing slalom rules is to put forward a motion at the Slalom Committee ACM, which if accepted would then become a proposal to the ICF from the BCU. They would then have to vote on it at their Annual meeting, and with a bit of luck we could update our rules the following year?

Not that I am considering such a proposal, just asking out of curiosity.
