As you may have noticed, John Sturgess has some strong views on the ranking system, and its purpose.

So far I have been somewhat dismessive of these views, as I normally only notice them too late to do anything, or at an event when I am thinking of how to drift down the course upright, without looking too terribly slow! Sorry John.

I would like to try to understand the advantages of the viewpoint John is espousing, think them through over the winter and away from events, so that come the next ACM, if a motion is put, we can have a reasoned discussion.

Unless shouted down by others, I would welcome debate, even if it is offline, via pm or email, how about it John?
All spelling errors are intentional and are there to show new and improved ways of spelling old words. Grammatical errors are due to too many English classes/teachers.
Old. Fat. Slow. Bad tempered. And those are my good points
