The local Aberdeen Council, Media and Press, all seem to have taken David Florence to be a local hero, following his excellent performance in Beijing. As a native born sporting hero in a City desperate for something to raise sport above the mundane performances of the local football team.

Anyhow, now is a chance for us all to capitalise on this and promote slalom and canoeing, the local Evening paper - Aberdeen Evening Express have started voting for Aberdeen's Champions - David has a nomination in the sporting category :;):
