Hi

Thanks to all those who helped on the Saturday setting up, especially the guys from Reading CC.

Thanks also to everyone who helped in any other capacity whatsoever.

More thanks to those who turned up to compete and put up with the cold, rain and mud on Sunday and then had to put up with the timing gear breaking down, making it a longer process. We appreciate your understanding and tolerance.

Monday was better and despite a few organisational hiccups, which were inevitable as it was the first time we'd run it (nothing I ain't seen elsewhere anyway) The timing gear was fixed overnight and it seemed to go ok

Now to the important matter of the remaining prize from our fantastic raffle, as demonstrated by the enthusiastic kids.

It belongs to the holder of green ticket 59 if you want to know what your prize is drop me a pm. If you don't claim it I might donate give it as a prize next time - you should see it!
Do me a favour get it out of my car. I can also throw in a fantastic book from my personal library, called The World Without Us it's a brilliant book as readers of this forum will know.

Also thanks to those who took part in the L&SER Grand Prix the results announced will be confirmed shortly.
Next L&SER event is Orton Mere on 22nd and 23rd May followed by Langham Farm on June 19 and 20th

Thanks Winchester for a good w/e - By Monday the timing teething problems seemed to have been ironed out and even the sun came out. It was certainly a successful w/e for my family - Div 2 here they come!
Neil, I know you've explained about the L&SER events before but I didn't quite understand - I see Proteus is a L&SER. What is it and what does it mean?

Thanks

Slapdash

Hi Guys.
L&SER got its name from the old "London & SE Region".
It is a grand prix series of 22 selected Div3 & 4 events, open to all juniors in these divs, all events selected as accessible to competitors from the SE. But some are actually in other regions (e.g. Langham, Orton Mere), and paddlers from other regions welcome to join in.
At each event we tot up the times of the 3 fastest paddlers from each team. Fastest aggregate is the winning team, they usually get a prize on the day. They get 10 points. Second get 8 points, then 6,5,4,3,2,1
Over the season we tot up the points across all 22 events in the season and the winning team overall gets a trophy. Runners up too.
Winchester won in 2009, followed by Tandridge then Meridian.
Have a go! More info from Peter.bedingfield1@btintenet.com
