Entries are continuing to be accepted - If you can send them prior to the event that would be great. However, we shall be accepting entries on the day
Orton Mere is located in Peterborough - Just off the A1, along Oundle Road in Orton Longueville. The postcode is: PE2 7DZ

The slalom will be erected on Friday so will be available for practice from Friday evening.

Saturday and Sunday: Start times are dependent on entries but are likely to be 12 noon on Saturday and 11am on Sunday. Entries will close 1 hour before.
Organised practice will start at 9.30am.

There will be an Open Team event on the Saturday.

This year we plan to have a BBQ on Saturday evening – We will provide the BBQ and charcoal so bring your own meat to put on the BBQ.

This is a weir slalom with one very small shoot of water.

It is a great family friendly slalom with camping on site and it is good for spectators who can view the whole course from one spot.

Orton Mere is located in Nene Country Park with lots of walks, cycle ways and sailing. There are 2 golf courses a few miles away. There is a rowing lake 1 mile away. It is 6 miles to Queensgate shopping centre. Another attraction for the family is Nene Valley steam railway that runs alongside the river with a station next to the car park.

Camping is on the north side of the river Nene but it is possible to drive around to unload – Collect the key for the gate and instructions from the club on the south side of the river.
There will be portaloos on site as the council recently closed the public conveniences and we will ensure there is fresh water available on site. Bringing some of your own though might be useful.

Currently the Environment Agency is working on the North bank of the river Nene, improving the bank and improving access for canoeists and boaters. They are due to finish work a week after the event but they are working with us and assure us that we will have access to the North bank. We do have access rights to the South bank so we do not foresee this being a big problem. Camping will still be available on the North Bank.

We hope you enjoy the event.

Paddling is an assumed risk and competing in the races is purely at the paddlers’ & their parents’ own discretion. Children under 16 years of age should be accompanied by an adult at all times.

As this event is taking place in a public environment it is possible that unregulated photography may take place and people with concerns about this should not participate.

Have fun.

Yes lots of SORTS of prizes, and all sought after :D

Oops did my pedantry bump this thread on one of the most relaxed fun events in the year back up to the top? :)

Good event guys, well done.

Particularly liked the weather - any chance of ordering more for the winter slaloms?
