Washburn 14/15 April - FULL

Post by lesf » Mon Apr 02, 2012 8:17 pm

Hi folks

Sorry but we have reached our limit for the Washburn Div 2 & Open race on 14/15 April, so I will not be taking any further entries for the Div 2 or Open race.

I do have spaces for a few more judges entries (and need the judges).

I'll have a start list posted before I go to Tully for the weekend.

I'll update on here a list of entries received after we reached our limit, so you will know that you have not got in. (Cards and cheques will be destroyed).

I know there will be people who wanted to race and who will be disappointed to have missed out, but sorry once we've hit our limit there's nothing I can do.

Thanks

Les Ford

Hi Anna-Louise

Be great to have you judging and we'll put you somewhere easily accessible - although the fence is no longer there!

Hi all

Just to confirm (as i was asked several times over the weekend) yes we will have water for the Washburn event as the release has been confirmed by Yorkshire Water. (Those coming from the south are asked to refrain from taking buckets home with them to fill their swimming pool though!)

Rejected Entries (receive while I was at Tully) - sorry
Patrick Marriott Div 2 C1M
Daniel Brookes Div 2 K1M

Thanks

Oh no! I'd already packed buckets of the giant size to bring water home with me :)

Hi Les,
Do you have any information on the he A59 closure -
The A59 is closed between Skipton & Bluberhouses so those coming from the West will need an adjusted route.
?

I have spoken to the campsite and searched the North Yorkshire Council website, but neither know anything about it. Apparently there are no signs on the road saying what/where/when it will be closed, so was trying to get more information to work out if we will be able to get from M6 to Howgill Lodge, and also from there to the slalom site.

Thanks,
Steve Linksted

PS You can put me down to judge too, I'm not bringing a boat, so not looking for a run.

I seem to remember that statement from last year. Maybe it is no longer the case?

Opps - missed that when editing the information from last year.

The A59 is not closed, so there'll be no problems - I drove along it last week!

Hi,
Does anyone know if Washburn is releasing tomorrow, and if so what times? The water info line / email system / yorcie website all confirm the event but make no mention of anything else.

Is there any space left for Judges?
I may be able to attend on one of the days.

Hi folks to answer queries:

Slink - no the washburn is not releasing on Friday, water is confirmed for the weekend. (The washburn only releases for canoeing on about 35 days per year, so only those releases are mentioned).

Carlosvalderama - yes I have some space for judges (and need some!), please swing by control and fill out a card when you get there.

Thanks

Les

Esther and Les,
Thanks for another special weekend in Yorskshire.
Looking forward to seeing you in June, or was it July?
