Only the second best bacause I disorganised the first, and Kate is organising this one.

But how can you resist an event organised by an enthusiastic young woman, where some old fat guy tries to get your money, and the event is targeted at everyone having a good time, having an uninterputed go on the course and SMILING!

Among the attractions promised this time are:
- CP actually getting in a boat (probably look like a squirt boat as I have not been in a boat since the previous event)
- CP LOUD encouragement of paddlers who cant see the course (either through too good a Saturday night or poor eyesight). Reiniscent of the registered blind paddlers we encouraged before.
- Yet more paddlers from the old days taking tentative steps back into slalom
- Munchkin paddling teh course multiple times - shes a girl that cant say no to a new C2 pairing!

All that and a wonderful canteen - how can you say no? how can you be anywhere else? :p

See you there (but only on the Saturday!)

Don't forget to bring some info on the Harefield event so we can advertise it.
(who me? bumping this up to be on the front page, as if !)

CP, I wonder if I can check a few facts?

Will I be able to camp right by the river and get loads of practise?
Will the catering team be providing some of the best food available at a sporting event anywhere?
Will the prizes include delicious homemade cakes of a professional standard?
Will a brand new clubhouse be available for all to admire?
Will Glenn still get a wrong direction 50 on the course he put up?
I can hardly wait!! Ohh look, you're top of the list!!

Entry in for C1 and one C2 so far... Anyone else want to try the C2 - I have a black sparkly boat..? Shame that the Canadian training days are later in the summer, I can do with the help!

Should have some beginners joining me too...

Nicky, don't panic, I will be "gracing" you with my entries soon!

The Munchkin invasion begins...

Paul,
Oops off the top again, soon change that,

I can offer a resounding yes! to all except Glen getting a fifty - if he doesnt know where he is going how should I!

Munchkin seems to have got the martini C2 bug - any time, any where, anyone - cant understand it, I would not dream of it myself, even if I did one event with both a sack of spuds and my Australian nephew! :D

Only just over a week to go, keep bumping this folks, and we look forward to seeing you all again.

So we are into the final few days before the event, my beautiful wife is frantically making cakes, and we are making plans to put teh course up and doing anti rain dances.

How can you miss an event that keep spoping up to the top of the event board like this??

See you all on Saturday :D

Thanks Proteus for a suberbly organised event. Thanks especially to the rescue team! Congratulations everyone who decided to compete in the canoe slalom rather than the swimming gala! Well done if you got promoted this weekend... you are definately prepared for the next division!
Life is what happens when you're making other plans.
