I prefer tryweryn cos it is bigger, but it has loads of rocks to break your boat. OWWW!! Nottsy is still pretty good though. :p

Just a repition of what i said in the other topic, didnt realise there was a poll

Tryweryn:

FOR:
-Faster water
-many sites (variety)
-more drops
-good for playboating aswell
-good, fast eddies
-original
AGAINST:
-Rocky
-Tends to rain
-Occasionally too many rafts when training

Nottingham

FOR:
-Well presented site (stands, the board, bridge, path etc..)
-good for spectators
-generally nice course to paddle
-good changing rooms
-good parking
-good for recirculations sessions (can paddle bk up easily)
-good warm-up lake
-camping+ good white water center for accomodation
-all motorway to get there, no small windy roads (depends where u live though)
AGAINST:
-poluted water
-'iffy',boily eddies
-slimy maggot banks (it's true, we have seen it)
-short course (compared to Tryweryn)
-not as much white water
-less playboating waves/stoppers
-the odd dodgy raft guide
-tend to find dead cows in eddies (not too often tho)
-often too windy
-occasionally too many playboaters when training

They are both really different types of sites anyway, they both have their advantages and disadvantages. Personally i prefer Tryweryn mainly because of the variety, but nottingham is a really nice course aswell.

Anyone got anything else to add?

Vicky x

p.s jimi your arguements are personal I.e the price on trywryn and the distance- I get on Tryweryn for free and its the same distance as nottingham practically.

Ooooooh very good.
I'd never remember all that stuff...

i guess its personal (cept the price cos i could jus as easily say its personal that you get it free)
but oh well..

where do you reckon tully and tees and... erm.... anywhere else ranks alongside these two?

i think that tully comes quite high up when its high, but when its low its murder for boats and can get a bit boring. i've only ever been to tees once and it was ok but not my fave site, again a personal opinion though....

I love Tully wen its high, especially the big waves in the middle, they rock! But it can get kinda borin at the bottom wen its low and i also put a huge hole in the bottom of my boat at easter. But theres a reason for that which i wont go into but it was my own stupid fault.
Anyways tully is generaly a gud place! :)

:D Nice signiture Al, chicks on speed did suck!
Tully is also a nice site, better when the water is high. Good place to train, but i dnt like it for racing. Tees isn't amazing- the water is quite bad there. Not a bad course generally.

How about washburn and townfalls (assuming we'll still have that1)?

i dunno town falls is a bit boring. i only been there last time once and it wasnt that good,
not as good as everyone said at least.

i thort it was a bit poor you couldnt see the top half of the course properly til you were on teh water....
prob jus me bein lazy tho.

i also thort town falls was annoying cos i couldnt find anyone in the town...

but i am really annoying and picky.
i still liked it tho jus not as much....

i will prob love it when i go there when its not so shallow

Washburn is a nice course. Is it me or do people get more tired walking back up to the top than they do paddling down it???or is it just my lazy, fat a** nothing being fit enough????
Tully is another strong fav, only problem is not being able to watch people paddle as closly as you can at the GREAT NOTTS!!!!!! :) :) :)
