As some of you will be aware 2007 is the 100th anniversary of the birth of screen legend John Wayne and in order to celebrate this momentous event Hollywood are about to release a previously unseen film shot in 1972(the year in which Deep Purple released "Machine Head" and blind men saw again after listening too it) starring John Wayne and Clint Eastwood, story wise it goes like this

John Wayne's cattle rustling down in Texas and as we all know there's only one man in the world who can possibly take out a cattle rustling John Wayne, that man being Clint Eastwood, so Inspector Harry Callaghan gets taken out of San Francisco and sent down to Texas to sort out the thieving cattle rustler John Wayne. Off course the film ends in a in fairly predictable manner; Clint's got John Wayne on the ground, pointing a magnum 44 in his face and giving him some speil about "go ahead punk, make my day was it five or was it six" but what exactly happens next?

John Wayne thinking he has nowhere to go asks Clint to read him his rights. In the course of which John is called to give his full and proper name. Clint is so taken aback at the reference to Jessie he takes his eye off the mark allowing John to get in a sucker punch and escape.

Film ends up with Texan John heading into the sunset to the opening chords of Van Zants about to be released (1973) southern anthem "Freebird"

:p

Good guess, but wrong; more importantly Seedy concerning things "Van Zant" have you heard Johnny and Donnie's 1998 album "Brother to Brother" and talking about Southern anthems, Gregg Allman(along with Hammond organ) is playing in London in July, the week after Government Mule(Allmans spin off, 20 min guitar solos etc,) I'm sure my mate Allan from Alva who goes to New York every year to see the Allman Brothers band at the Beacon Theatre will be there, might join him, but regarding Clint v Wayne, you got that wrong(as oppossed to Skynyrds, You got that right), but good guess anyway

Clint says to Wayne "You're a good man, John, but a bad actor. A good man always knows his limitations". Wayne tries to go for his Winchester reaper and Clint pops him. David Soul then shouts out "He shot a good guy". Clint then gets drafted into the secret service to assassinate George Kennedy while climbing the Eiger. Roll closing credits (to any Lalo Schifrin film theme of your choice, or perhaps the James Taylor Quartet's cover of "Starsky & Hutch" (a Hammond-fest if ever there was one!)).
