The thought of a hybrid Santa/Jesus is one I've often pondered.
I can imagine it would boost church attendance. This idea has a lot going for it. Employees of the Anglican Church and others are not adverse to wearing ludicrous garb already. It's only a short hop to pulling on a big red suit and beard. It would reinstate the belief in Santa and that other bearded chap whose name escapes me, provide work for the abundantly bearded ones who otherwise rightly ostracised the rest of the year.
Imagine the nativity scene including elves and you'll get it.
Oh darn, just thought of a downside, it would be putting more kids near priests.
