Can England Slalom Team paddlers please take a look at the new web site created to sell team kit and confirm their preference for the two hoodie designs? Also, let me know what you think about the other kit choices.

Thanks,

The web site is now live and ready to take kit orders from anyone who was named in the England team in 2011 including reserves.

The provisional 2012 England team will be published in due course.

The provisional England team for 2012 is now published on the front page of the Canoe Slalom web site. Anyone named in the team who wants to purchase England kit then please click on the link provided in an earlier post or follow the link further down the front page.

Anyone new to the team who needs further advice then please contact me using the details in the Year Book.

England selection has little identity .

Will team "colours" be issued for those in the England Pan Celtic squad for 2016 ?

Where is the kudos in getting selected if there is no visible identity or recognition.

There is an England team kit, cagdeck and BA, it's just poorly marketed. That is because there is no England identify, there hasn't been for several years. The latest nail in the coffin was when "England" was merged in the latest rebranding exercise, its's now "British Canoeing".

All the other home nations have retained their identify, whilst also being affiliated to British Canoeing, but for some bizarre reason, those wonderful commercial/marketing people didn't see the need to have a Canoe England identify anymore.

As to the Pan Celtic competition, there is a lack of interest in it due to the focus of the kids getting divisional points. This is to "impress" the British Canoeing coaches so that they get a place on the Talent Programmes. The Pan Celtic competition will continue to be low key until it is run as a separate competition and given the focus it deserves, with some actual kudos of winning. Many proposals have been put forward, but there is no appetite for change.
