Hello folks, and a happy Easter to you all!
As part of a project at work and wanting to put something back into to the slalom community, I've had a little time to piece together a mobile app which I hope paddlers may find useful. It's a simple app which calculates race points (or times if not applicable to the class) and works using the formulas described in the rule book.
It can be downloaded free on both Apple and Android devices and requires no Internet connection to use. For those not on smart phones or computers, there's also a responsive website version from which the app was based on.
It's still a work in progress, but any feedback is most welcome!

Re: Canoe points app
Hi this good to have, but you need to look again at the C2 points calculations.
If the class is quorate, C2 points work the same as other classes. The modified times are only used for C2 if the class is inquorate (as you've done for the C1 classes) - see yearbook page 55

Except that at Div 1 and Div 3 races C2 points are worked out as for other classes but then divided by two. Ditto for C1W at Div 1 events only.lesf wrote:If the class is quorate, C2 points work the same as other classes. Thanks for the replies, much appreciated.
I will amend the C2 calculations to allow for a points calculation if the number of participants is met. The C1W rule already applies to calculations.
Cheers

Re: Canoe points app
Hi
Just a quick update to say that there's now a completely new version of the app, supporting Portable Points, available both on iOS and Android app stores. The old Android app is in the process of being removed from the store.
With portable points, the app asks for additional race information in order to generate a points total.
Sorry it's taken a little while to get this out there, but do keep a look out for updates to the app, as additional features (with the help of others in the slalom community) are on the horizon.
Any feedback is always appreciated.

Hi everyone.
Just thought I'd post a quick update to say that the app now also displays the slalom event calendar, where events can also be downloaded to your phone/tablet.
Where possible it'll also show start lists, entries and further event information. The data shown in the app is the same of that displayed on the slalom website and will update automatically. The app also works without an internet connection (once the initial sync has been made).
Big thanks to Ben Collins for providing the event data feed.
Any feedback is always appreciated.
